Sandy Beach... For many, a dream vacation would be to take a break from Idaho’s weather and escape to the sandy beaches of somewhere warm.

Imagine the perfect spring vacation. Maybe it is somewhere hot and sandy, maybe out visiting loved ones, or perhaps it is right on your couch watching YouTube and Netflix. “Obviously the best spring break would be a pool party on Pluto.” – Eleanor Mearns. Whatever the ideal break from school might be, people all around love to make these two weeks off a time to remember.

The student body at FBCS is a quite diverse group. From video gamers to outdoors people. From social lights to travelers. Even with all the different opinions, the students all seem to have a common goal: To relieve the stress of school and prepare for next trimester.

With spring vacation just around the corner, many people are planning ahead and getting ready to make the most of their vacation. Many students will be visiting relatives. Another trend is going on a road trip to a fun destination. Then of course there are the homebodies who are planning on staying home or chilling with friends.

Students who are involved in dual enrollment are faced with a challenge. NIC spring break is right before the high school break. They will be getting two spring breaks. However the two breaks come with a price. The NIC students will need to do homework instead of having the desirable free schedule.

Junior Emily Hieronymus has found a way to get the exciting break balanced with college work. “I am planning on going to Seattle for spring break to see my Aunt… so I will have to continue to work on my college classes even though it will be vacation.”

Time to have a blast!.. You and your friends can make this vacation one to remember wherever you are! Make the best of this year’s spring vacation even at home with some friends.

Sophomore Eleanor Mearns faces the same problem. “Every year my family and I go to Seattle WA for the Emerald City Comic Con… (Homework) affected both my travel time and how long I will be gone.”

Even though most students would prefer to not be stuck doing homework while on break, for those behind in classes it can be a great time to catch up or get started on studying for the upcoming trimester. However, doing homework in this time meant for relaxation isn’t fun, so these next few weeks can be key to making the quality of your break even better. By really pushing to get caught up now, you could save yourself from being stuck at home later. Eric Layeux is planning to study hard so he is not bogged down over break. “With my projects all being turned in by that point, I wouldn’t even be procrastinating this time!”

Overall, spring break only comes around once a year, it is the perfect time to do something you will remember forever. Might as well try something new or adventurous, or do what you love the whole time.  Make the break one to remember!
