The Forrest M. Bird Charter High School, came to the school like a normal day, but it would not turn out to be a normal day. At morning announcements everything changed, as the Middle School Principal Jennifer Greve and the Superintendent Alan Millar. We’re waiting for the whole school be quite. They both stepped on the stage, and Jennifer step up to the mic and said “This the hardest thing and the one thing I hoped I never have to do. Mr. Goodwin has had a heart attack (pause as there was some murmuring) Mr. Goodwin has died.” The whole school grieved as students were told that it was going to be an open Advo. The Student went home throughout the day to grieve with their parents. The High School Principle Mary Jensen came to school at about noon as she was with the Goodwin’s.
For the next three school days, the school spirit was very low, most of teachers were in shock with the whole school. On the day of Mr. Goodwin’s death, Ian McConnaughey set up his camera and his mic so that student could say their final goodbye to Mr. Goodwin and to give the rest of the Goodwin family their best wishes. Also Apirll Logan, encouraged students to write their thoughts about Mr. Goodwin, on a piece of paper to be buried with him, Mr. Goodwin like candy, the students got a piece of candy and ate it while writing their note something on appreciation of his life. The students, then tapped they candy wrapper to the note they wrote for Mr. Goodwin.
